Alta slate for floors is usually used with a natural surface, and is produced in many different measurements, widths, lengths, thicknesses and shapes. The thickness is chosen according to what the substrate is like, and whether the tiles are to be laid in glue or mortar. Alta slate can also be supplied with adjusted thickness.
